For the purposes of this Ordinance, ultralight aircraft shall mean:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. aircraft (airplanes, helicopters and motor kites) that do not have more than two seats and whose maximum certified take-off mass (MTOM) does not exceed:
    – 300 kg, for single-seater land planes or helicopters,
    – 450 kg, for two-seater land planes or helicopters,
    – 330 kg, for amphibians or single-seater seaplanes \/ helicopters,
    – 495 kg, for amphibians or two-seater seaplanes \/ helicopters, provided that, when used either as seaplanes \/ helicopters or as landplanes \/ helicopters, their mass is below their MTOM limits,
    – 472.5 kg, for two-seater ground airplanes equipped with a parachute system for safe stopping of airplanes mounted on an aircraft carrier,
    – 315 kg, for single-seater ground airplanes equipped with a parachute system for safe stopping of airplanes mounted on an aircraft carrier, provided, in the case of airplanes, that they have a drag speed or a minimum horizontal flight speed in a landing configuration not exceeding 35 knots (65 km \/ h) of the calibrated flight speed (CAS);<\/li>\n
  2. single-seater and two-seater gyroplanes with a maximum approved take-off mass not exceeding 560 kg;<\/li>\n
  3. sailboats, including those launched by foot, whose maximum structural mass does not exceed 80 kg in the one-seater version or 100 kg in the two-seater version.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Pilot training consists of theoretical and practical work.
    The theoretical part of the ultralight pilot license examination includes the following subjects:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. aviation regulations;<\/li>\n
    2. general knowledge of aircraft and aircraft maintenance;<\/li>\n
    3. flight performance and planning;<\/li>\n
    4. human capabilities and limitations;<\/li>\n
    5. meteorology;<\/li>\n
    6. navigation;<\/li>\n
    7. operating procedures;<\/li>\n
    8. flight theory (flight principles);<\/li>\n
    9. communications (radio telephony).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The practical part of the exam for obtaining an ultralight aircraft pilot’s license consists of a test of knowledge of emergency procedures, a test in flight and a test of knowledge of phraseology in Serbian or English.<\/p>\n

      The candidate for acquiring additional authorization is not checked for knowledge of phraseology, unless he \/ she requests a check in the application in order to expand the right to use radio telephony from Serbian to English.<\/p>\n

      Theoretical part: 100 hours
      Practical part: 30 h of flight-time
      Depending on the student\u2019s commitment, the training can last from 6 months to a year.<\/p>\n
